
Presbyopia--What Is This Eye Condition?

Presbyopia is not a disease. Presbyopia is the natural stiffening of the human lens with time. (Notice, the word aging was not used) Stiffening of the lens results in the loss of focusing. See if you recognize this scenario:
HELP! I’m turning into my father!! I find myself looking over my glasses to see anything up close and all I can think about is my dad giving me that dad glare over his ever-present reading glasses perched at the end of his nose whenever I got in trouble. I vowed to never glare at my kids over my glasses and I don’t like to break my own promises. What am I going to do?
I have good news for all of you that can relate. This is the new millennium. Technology has advanced so we never have to perch reading glasses on the end of our noses ever again.
